Did Enoch go to heaven
0:02
A lot of Christians will tell you yes. Thus, the most common belief of mainstream Christianity is that
0:07
after a righteous person dies, they will go to heaven just like Enoch
0:13
However, is this what the Bible really teaches? Could millions of Christians today be wrong
0:19
in their understanding of what truly happened to Enoch? Most importantly, what does the Bible say about life after death

1:27
Many Christians believe that Enoch went to heaven. Many people even tell you that Enoch didn't die, and he simply became a spirit being
1:35
This common belief is derived from Genesis 5 verse 24, which says
1:41
And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him
1:46
At the first reading of this verse, you might as well be convinced by their belief
1:52
People believe that the term God took him refers to the fact that he went up to heaven
1:58
However, concluding that Enoch is in heaven right now based on Genesis 5.24 isn't just faulty
2:06
but actually it betrays the truth taught in the Bible. That's why in this video, I want to prove to you that Enoch didn't go to heaven
2:17
Let's establish the facts and learn the truth not from human teachers
2:21
but rather straight from the Word of God. To do this, let me share with you seven reasons Enoch is not in heaven
2:31
Reason number one, no one has ascended into heaven. The Bible is clear that no one has ascended into heaven
2:39
Jesus Christ, or properly known as Yahshua himself, said in John 3.13
2:44
No one has ascended to heaven but he who came down from heaven, that is the Son of Man, who is in heaven
2:54
Christ said that there's no person who went up to heaven, even Enoch himself
2:59
He can testify of this truth because he is the only one who has ascended to heaven
3:05
He was there and he can definitely tell us whether there are people in heaven or not
3:11
In addition to this, King David, who would surely be in heaven if righteous people go to heaven after they die, isn't in heaven right now
3:21
We read in Acts 2 verses 29 and 34. Men and brethren let me speak freely to you of the patriarch David that he is both dead and buried and his tomb is with us to this day for David did not ascend into heaven
3:40
While David is acknowledged as a friend of God, it is surprising to find out that despite this close relationship
3:47
the scriptures indicate that he did not ascend to heaven. You see, the Bible is clear
3:53
No one has ascended to heaven from the time of Adam to our modern time
3:58
If no one has ascended to heaven, then where is Enoch? What happened to him
4:04
Let's discuss further. Reason number two, Enoch died like everyone else. Let's go back to Genesis 5.24
4:13
And Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him
4:18
A lot of people read and he was not and erroneously believe that Enoch didn't die
4:24
and he immediately went up to heaven. Is this true? that Enoch did not die
4:30
Let's go to the apostolic writing, the New Testament, to shed more light on the subject
4:35
We read in Hebrews 11 verse 5, By faith, Enoch was taken away
4:40
so that he did not see death and was not found because God had taken him
4:45
For before he was taken, he had this testimony that he pleased God
4:50
Now, Hebrews 11 is also called the faith chapter where you will read about
4:55
the heroes of faith. One of these heroes is Enoch as we read in verse 5
5:00
Now, notice Hebrews 11 verse 13. These all died in faith, not having received their promises, but having seen them afar off
5:11
were assured of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth
5:19
Now, that's very clear. These all died in faith refers to the people mentioned in Hebrews 11
5:26
And that includes Enoch as we read in verse 5. So what does this show us
5:32
It shows us that Enoch died like the other faithful servants of God
5:37
There's no debating about that. That's why reason number 3, Genesis 5.24 does not specify where Enoch was taken
5:47
The problem with so many Christians is that they read Genesis 5.24 and immediately assume that God took Enoch to heaven
5:55
However, a careful reading will show you that this is not the case
5:59
Let's read again. And Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him
6:05
The text only says God took him. You may read that again, and there's no mention of heaven in this verse
6:12
Even if you read Hebrews 11 verse 5, you'll also not find heaven in this verse
6:18
By faith, Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death
6:22
and was not found because God had taken him. Now, here's what's interesting
6:28
If you look into the Greek word of taken in Hebrews 11 verse 5
6:34
you'll find an alternative meaning. The Greek word here is metatitima, which means to transfer
6:41
So this tells us that God simply transferred Enoch from one place to another
6:47
And as we already have established, that place is not definitely heaven
6:52
Therefore, God removed Enoch from one place on earth and then placed him in another place on earth, not in heaven
6:59
Reason number four, Hebrews 11 verse 5, is mistranslated. So how do we explain Hebrews 11 verse 5 where it says that Enoch didn die Let read this verse one more time By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death
7:17
and was not found because God has taken him. The Bible tells us that God's word can't be broken
7:24
We read that in John 10 verse 35. And the Bible can't contradict itself
7:30
Again, this can't be referring to Enoch not dying because we also read in Hebrews 9 verse 27
7:37
and as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this, the judgment
7:44
A better translation of Hebrews 11 verse 5 is made by the New American Standard Bible or NASB
7:52
We read its rendition of Hebrews 5 verse 11, By faith, Enoch was taken up so that he would not see death
8:01
By saying he would not see death, it means that he would not see death for a specific period of time
8:08
compared to saying he did not see death, which means that he did not die at all
8:14
Now, you might ask, how did God take Enoch so that he would not see death
8:20
Well, the Bible isn't specific on this. However, there are different ways to understand this in such a way
8:26
that it doesn't contradict the Bible. We will discuss them deeper in the following points
8:32
Reason number five, God could have hidden Enoch. God might have taken Enoch to a different place to save him from getting hurt or killed
8:42
especially during a time when people were angry and didn't like what he was saying about God's judgment
8:48
Remember, Enoch preached against the sins of the people. We read in Jude 1 verses 14 to 15
8:56
Now Enoch the seventh from Adam prophesied about this man also saying
9:01
Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his saints to execute judgment on all
9:07
to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way
9:16
and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against him
9:22
Therefore, God took Enoch so that wicked people would not kill him just like how God protected Elijah and Philip
9:30
by placing them in a new place on earth. Reason number six, Enoch might have died prematurely
9:39
Let's notice that Enoch passed away at a relatively young age compared to others of his time
9:44
He was just 365 years old. In contrast, people before and after him often lived into their 800s and 900s
9:53
Some speculate that God might have taken him early to spare him from living through many more years in a difficult world
10:01
This is supported in Isaiah 57 verse 1 to 2. We read
10:05
The righteous perishes and no man takes it to heart. Merciful men are taken away
10:12
while no one considers that the righteous is taken away from evil
10:16
He shall enter into peace, they shall rest in their beds, each one walking in his uprightness
10:23
God has the power to take away Enoch's life in the most painless manner
10:30
God can then resurrect Enoch in the first resurrection where he will receive a spiritual body
10:35
which will never die anymore. So when it says so that he would not see death
10:41
it means he didn have to go through the process of gradually dying Instead his life ended abruptly Some believe that Enoch may have faced persecution and was martyred for preaching his message
10:56
In this scenario, when it says Enoch was taken and not found, it could mean that God removed his body and buried it, similar to what happened to Moses
11:07
We read in Joteronomy 34 verses 5 to 6. So Moses, the servant of Yahweh, died there in the land of Moab according to the word of Yahweh
11:17
And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth Peor
11:22
But no one knows his grave to this day. Reason number seven, Genesis 5.24 could refer to the second death
11:31
In the Bible, we read that there is more than one type of death
11:35
The first death is what people commonly experience. However, the second death is the death wicked people will experience in the lake of fire
11:45
Notice what Jesus Christ said in John 8.51. Most assuredly I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he shall never see death
11:56
The death Christ was saying here is not the physical death or the first death since we know that there are numerous faithful men and women who have seen physical death
12:06
So there must be a different type of death that we can read in the Bible
12:12
Notice what the book of Revelation mentioned about the second death. He who has an ear, let him hear that the Spirit says to their churches
12:20
He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death. That's Revelation 2 verse 11
12:26
And then we read another one. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection
12:32
That's Revelation 20 verse 6
12:44
Now another one. According to Revelation 20 verse 14. Thus, we might also believe that when the Bible said that Enoch didn't see death
12:59
it could be that he did not see the second death. which is the death of the wicked in the lake of fire
13:06
Instead, Enoch will be born again into the kingdom of God as a spirit being who will rule together with Yahshua and his saints
13:16
There you have it, the seven reasons why Enoch didn't go to heaven
13:20
