📅 Committing Suicide – Daily Bible Reading

Today’s reading: Judges 16:30

COMMITTING SUICIDE

We read in Judges 16:30:

30 Then Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” And he pushed with all his might, and the temple fell on the lords and all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life.

On the surface, we can see that Samson committed suicide here. However, the main reason he committed it was not to simply take his life, but to also kill as many Philistines as possible through his death.

As they say, “Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.”

It is wrong to think about suicide as an unforgivable sin. Sadly, people who commit it are deceived by Satan.

The good news is that God’s love and mercy are greater than suicide and those who have committed would be given a chance to know more about God.

Samson, who committed suicide, is still part of Hebrews 11. This gives us hope to those who have sadly committed this sin.

Time will come when they will be enlighted to the truth.

  1. You’re wrong!! Suicide is the ULTIMATE act of a lack of trust in God. It is committed by people who never gave their life to Him. Sadly, that’s exactly the state of most church goers today; no repentance, no following Jesus (see Luke 6:46 and Hosea 4:6 and… Psalm 119:11, and… 30,000 more that no one is LIVING by…

We we ALL (meaning you too) be judged by Jesus one day (all on the same day – jugement day) for what we have done (See Matthew 25:34-46). That’s what Jesus said. If you’re going to teach, get it right. You’re OWN salvation actully IS impacted by leafing people astray. See Hosea 4:6 again.
