📅 Lemons to lemonades – Daily Bible Reading

Today’s reading: Genesis 50:20

Lemons to lemonades

We read in Genesis 50:20:

20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

It’s quite remarkable how Joseph developed an impressive level of maturity during his stay in Egypt.

Obviously, God was with him even in a foreign land.

Joseph was mistreated by his brothers. Because of his brothers, he went through a lot of hardships and untold suffering.

Yet, Joseph was able to still be kind to his brothers.

For most of us, we might think it’s payback time.

But for Joseph, it was time to show kindness and mercy.

Perhaps, the most powerful statement he mentioned is this:

What evil meant to me, God meant it for good.

The same is true in our lives today.

You might have enemies.

They may plan evil against you.

They may try to discredit you; talk evil against you; do harm to you; and even kill you.

However, God can use those evil plans to prosper you.

Instead of destroying, God used your enemies to build you.

So, when people try to put you down, hold your peace.

God is the Master of turning lemons into lemonades.
