Probably, one of the most controversial topics today would be homosexuality. It seems odd that what was clearly called a sin in the Bible is now being accepted by more and more progressive “church” groups.
Thus, this video caught my attention. The man being interviewed is Rick Warren. He is an American pastor who founded the Saddleback Church. If you don’t know him, he is the author of the best-selling book, The Purpose Driven Life.
Listen to what he has to say about homosexuality:
His stance is clear: he is against homosexuality, which should be a brave stance of all Christians today. Just like he says, personally, I don’t approve of homosexual behavior but I don’t go out condemning people who live this lifestyle.
Instead, I pray for these people to abandon their homosexual life and turn their hearts to God. Everyone can change by His grace. Everyone can live a renewed life with God’s mercy.
From the video, what I really like to highlight is what Rick Warren said towards the last part:
“I fear the disapproval of God more than the disapproval of you or society.”
That sums up what the Apostles said in Acts 5:29:
“We ought to obey God rather than men.”
Let’s all strive to live by the truth written in the Bible.
Most importantly, let’s do our best in pleasing God rather than men.
