God is the Master of Turning Curses to Blessings

This is a story of a man who was stranded on an island and how God used his tragedy to bring help in his life.

Once there was a man who was shipwrecked.

He managed to swim to a deserted island.

He found himself all alone.

Days, weeks, and months have gone and yet, it seems that no one is coming to his aid.

He prayed earnestly to God for help.

However, one night, his makeshift hut caught on fire.

To make things worse, all the food and supplies he has gathered are in that hut.

With no hope in sight, he cried out to God and asked Him why he let this tragedy happened to him.

After all, being stranded on an island all alone is enough for anyone to go insane.

But to have all his supplies burned to nothing in an instant is more than enough for anyone to reach their breaking point.

The man fell asleep that night – crying with a feeling of hopelessness.

When tomorrow comes, he woke up in a familiar sound.

What he thought was a dream is now a reality.

He is hearing the sound of a boat coming near to the island.

With all his might, he called for help.

To his surprise, he didn’t need to yell for help anymore because the boat is already going to his direction.

He was rescued that day.

Once he was on board, he asked the captain:

“How did you know that someone is in that island looking for help?”

The captain replied, “We saw the fire last night and thought we should check it out.”

That moment, the man fell down, cried, and thank God for his goodness.

Reflection

The Almighty is the master of turning curses into blessings

Have you experienced that time when you feel like things are just not going according to plan?

We all have those moments.

However, know that in those moments, God is still there.

You may not understand what may be happening right now, but time will come when you can look back and say, “Aah. So that’s why.”

It will all wonderfully make sense.

You will eventually connect the dots.

Life will throw you all kinds of problems.

Sometimes, you can withstand it, but sometimes, it brings you down to your knees.

When these things happen, know that God is always there – working out a plan for you.

Deuteronomy 31:6 tells us:

“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for Yahweh your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”

Today, you may not understand what you’re going through.

But time will come that you will.

If not in this lifetime, it will be in the life to come.

Yes, it is difficult to go through trials without knowing why or where it will lead.

Just trust God. Have faith in Him.

He has our best interest in mind.

He will never leave us nor forsake us.

  1. Great story! When hit hut caught on fire, he probably thought God was not protecting him since he lost his shelter and food. However, it was the fire that caught the attention of the people, who were able to fully rescue him. God knew the end of the story, and was protecting Him the entire time. We just need to trust that God works ALL things together for good, to those who are called according to His purposes. Blessings!

  2. Nice post. Awesome post! A great truth…

And a necessary reminder: WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT GOOD IS EVEN IF WE SAW IT.

We all just think we do. We watch. We study. We look. We examine. Then we draw our own biased opinions.

We all like to think we can be unbiased, not racist, not partial, but that’s ALLL BULLSHIT.

And that’s why we have ALMIGHTY GOD TO LEAN ON.

I love this example, because its is a perfect example… what we see as a curse, or evil, doesn’t mean it is. We view things linear. Completely from one angle when , we cannot take all angles into consideration..but Almighty God can.

We live our lives insistent we are right. So and so is bad. So and so is an evil person, then….BAM, just like that guy in the story…God let’s him have it…and all we can do is look up, fall down and ask for forgiveness….especially when we blamed God, or got angry with him.

    • Hi Ben!

Thanks for your comment. I know how hard it is sometimes to have the proper perspective when all we can see is the pain and suffering.

Thankfully, the Almighty sees everything including those things hidden from us and He is working out a solution even before a problem arises.

      Regards,
