The Priceless Value of Time

Here’s a post that discusses how important time is especially for Christians today!

Do you want to know the importance of time? Here’s something that you need to read. It is a quote attributed to Marc Levy, a French novelist. I believe this quote is packed with wisdom and great insight.

Here’s the quote:

If you want to know the value of one year, just ask a student who failed a course.

If you want to know the value of one month, ask a mother who gave birth to a premature baby.

If you want to know the value of one hour, ask the lovers waiting to meet.

If you want to know the value of one minute, ask the person who just missed the bus.

If you want to know the value of one second, ask the person who just escaped death in a car accident.

And if you want to know the value of one-hundredth of a second, ask the athlete who won a silver medal in the Olympics.

What an incredible thought!

This quote is something that has remained with me ever since I first read it online while preparing a message about the importance of time. I have even blogged about it. Please open this page to another tab and read my blog entitled, “3 Compelling Reasons Christians Should be Punctual.”

It is sad that sometimes, we go on with our lives without actually valuing our time. We waste our time on destructive habits and even spend it on things that lead us to sin.

As Christians, we are admonished to use our time wisely. We read in one of the Apostle Paul’s epistle:

“Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time” (Colossians 4:5).

Redeeming the time means to improve how you spend your time here on earth. It means to make the most out of every opportunity and to ensure not a single time is wasted on things that make us sin.

They say “Time is gold.” Actually, that’s just an underrated statement. You know why? Because one can buy gold, but not time. Even if you combine all the wealth on earth, you can’t buy a single second. You can’t turn back time. Once time is gone, it is gone forever.

The problem with time is that it flows freely. You can’t stop it from flowing. You can’t store it like electricity, water, or food. As they say, “You can’t turn back the hands of time.”

Life is too short to spend on things that won’t help us grow physically and spiritually. So, learn how to spend your time wisely because there will come a point in your life when it is too late.

Keep growing. Invest in relationships. Enjoy every moment of your life. Learn from your mistake and move on. Finally, live a life close to God and you will surely have a wonderful and blessed life!
