The 10 Best Christian Bookstores You Should Visit Today!

Looking for some of the top places where you can buy your favorite Christian books? If yes, check out this list of the 10 best Christian bookstores that will surely help you find what you’re looking for!

Christian bookstores have been a dying breed.

Back in the 90s, it seems that it is so easy to find a Christian bookstore in any corner of the street. However, with the shift of morality and increasing secularism in our society, more and more Christian book stores are now forced to close. With fewer people willing to buy Christian books, sales have decreased.

The trend does not only affect bookstores, but also Christian authors.

It is getting more and more difficult to find a Christian book store near me. Even if there’s a bookstore near you, the selection is just a few.

Thankfully, there are now online bookstores that you can go to if you want to find a good Christian book to read. I went online and see if I can find a list of Christian bookstores, but I was disappointed that a list doesn’t exist.

For this reason, I decided to create my own list of the best Christian book stores found on the Internet.

Are you ready to read my list? If yes, let’s begin!

The 10 Best Christian Bookstores You Should Visit Today

1. Amazon Christian Books and Bibles

Perhaps the most popular Christian bookstore on the Internet, Amazon sells both digital and paperback books. They have thousands of Christian books for women, men, children, and teens in their library. The best thing is that if you select their Kindle book version, you instantly receive your book with the least hassle.

Of course, if you are like me who prefer paperback, you can also get a hold of your ordered book in just one day depending on your location and the mode of delivery.

Another advantage of buying books from Amazon is that their website is super user-friendly. The books are systematically grouped together based on different categories such as Bibles, biographies, Christian living, church leadership, children & teens, and a lot more.

Most books come with customer reviews so you can also know what other people think about a particular book before you buy them.

2. Christianbook.com

I was curious at first what their bookstore name means. So, I did a little research and it refers to the Koorong Street where its founders, Bruce and Olive Bootes, first opened their store. They have been in business for over 40 years.

As a Christian company operating in Australia, Koorong lives up to its mission statement, “to effectively supply and promote an extensive range of Christian products that will be of spiritual benefit to the body of Christ.”

As the bookseller with the most number of retail stores in the United States, this list won’t be complete without Barnes & Noble. While of course, this isn’t strictly a Christian bookstore per se, you would be happy to know that there is an overwhelming number of Christian books here.

Barnes & Noble has more than 600 retail stores across the United States. If you don’t have time to visit their local stores, you can always go to their website and order your favorite book.

You can use their search bar to find Christian books. What I do is simply enter “Christian books” as my keyword and presto, I have a long list of inspiring books to read. You can read customer reviews to determine which book is right for you.

If you want to instantly get your book, they have the Nook e-reader version. It is like the Kindle of Amazon. So, it would be a good idea to get your Nook reader as well if you are an avid reader.

  1. I agree Christianity is dying, but I wouldn’t say that it is due to increased secularism. More like it served its purpose well and no longer applies since it has been too tarnished, being more than 2000 years removed from its pure source (Christ). Time to break free of old molds.

    • Christianity, if you compare it from what it was in the first century, has dramatically changed. There’s just too many things that made it too difficult to recognize by God’s standard.

    • Alex, being a Christian means that u r Christ like. Christianity is not dead. God is alive & anyone who has a relationship with God is alive. Christianity is not a trend or a phase. It doesn’t go out of style.

      • Hi Linda! Perhaps he is saying that it is dying in a sense that a lot of people are stop attending church.

I agree, being a Christian and all its teaching never goes out of date.

    • Let me see if I understand you correctly. You are essentially saying that we should abandon modern medicine, because the concept has been weighed down by centuries of baggage. However, be it medicine or theology, some people take an active part in their physical and/or spiritual well-being. Even if you just leave it up to your doctor or pastor, they benefit from those accumulated centuries of data when ministering to your needs. You can’t just say that none of this stuff applies just because you are too uninvolved to read it.

  2. Christianity is a relationship with God made available through Jesus’s sacrifice and sealed by the Holy Spirit.. .. it you see it as something from 2000 years ago that tells me that your relationship with God is dead.. end of story.. you can go on believing whatever about it… but that is the bottom the line.. and doesn’t change the fact that Lord is sitting at the right had of God, even as you read this…
