The Hardest Word to Say

The hardest word to pronounce or say in the English language is not “pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanokoniosis.” Maybe, you want to suggest the word, “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.” Well, not even close. Others admit having a hard time saying “floccinaucinihilipilification.” That is nothing compared to what I’m about to tell you.

While there’s no doubt that these words are difficult to pronounce, but there is one word that can surely twist people’s tongue. Even if they manage to say this word, it’ll come out from their mouth as a mere whisper. The word is too difficult to pronounce that people would rather choose to feel angry, frustrated, and irritated and even KILL each other than say this word. The word I’m talking about is just composed of five letters. What it is?

S-O-R-R-Y, sorry.

Yep, you read that right. But you might argue that it’s really not that difficult to pronounce or say. You might be saying “sorry” right now to prove me wrong. However, there are a lot of instances that people don’t want to say sorry because they know that they are right or would like to avoid the consequences of their actions.

King David was the king who committed adultery with Bathsheba. Instead of saying sorry for what he has done, he devised a plan to get off the hook of his sin! His plan ultimately led to the death of Uriah, the husband of Bathsheba and other awful things the fell on his kingdom and family.

Think about the times when you can’t say sorry because of pride. Think about the times when you would rather be in strife with your brother or sister because you insist that it’s their fault, not yours.

Now imagine if people would learn how to say sorry for the mistakes they have done. We could have seen more relationship restored. We could have seen a more peaceful society.

Imagine if the leaders of these nations learn to say sorry; WE COULD HAVE AVOIDED A LOT OF WARS. We could be living in a more harmonious world!

Imagine a world where we are humble enough to acknowledge our sins and REPENT of them; we could build a closer and more intimate relationship with God!

So the next time you are at fault, be the first to reach out and say sorry. Even if you are the one who has been wronged, be humble enough to make the necessary steps to reconcile with your brother. By doing so, God will reward you.

Say sorry. You will lose nothing, but you will rather gain something even better.
