Trusting God’s Plan in Your Life

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’” declares the LORD, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you’’ (Jeremiah 29:11, NIV).

One day, a man was visiting his friend’s farm. While walking, he noticed a big squash on the ground and a big mango tree full of fruits. He said to his friend, “God might be stupid. Why would He create a vine plant to produce a big fruit like a squash and let a big tree to produce small fruits like this mango tree?” His friend did not answer and kept silent. As the man approached the big tree, a mango suddenly fell on his head. He then realized the answer to his question.

How many of us act like the man? We question the infinite wisdom of God and His plan in our lives. Admittedly, there are certain situations in our lives that send us rock bottom and cause us to question God’s love, mercy, and justice.

But should we really worry? We read in Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (ESV).”

Sometimes, we may lose sight of God’s promises because of the many bad things that are happening around us. However, we can have the confidence that whatever it is we are suffering from right now, this too shall pass. At the end of it all, we know that everything will fall in its right place.

We may not understand it right now, but we can surrender everything in God’s hand. He knows the past, the present, and the future. If there is one being that we should TRUST, it should be God. The day will come when everything will make sense, and you will understand that GOD’S PLAN IS BIGGER than any of your problem combined.

So every time we suffer, let us not ask, “Why me, God?” Instead, let’s ask, “What are the lessons we should learn from this situation.” So be strong and be at peace with God!
