3 Shocking and Little-Known Truths About Jesus Christ

The requirements of TRUE worship

The requirements of TRUE worship

A Majority of Christians will proclaim that they know Jesus Christ. However, when asked who He really was, not all can give the right or clear answer except for superficial and vague information. If you truly want to follow Jesus, would it not make sense to know who He really was, is and will be? In this post, let me share with you at least 3 biblical facts about Jesus Christ.

Truth no. 1: Jesus Christ is the God of the Old Testament

“Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat; And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ” (I Corinthians 10:1-4).

Many scriptural references in the OT described God as the Rock. In the NT, the scripture revealed to us that that Rock was Jesus Christ, Himself.

Here’s another proof. The Bible said that no one has seen God the Father (John 1:18; John 5:37; John 6:46; I John 4:12; I Timothy 6:15-16). Anyone who sees God in His full glory, that person will die immediately (Exodus 33:20).

If this is the case, how come with can see in the scripture that God was seen by men (Genesis 17:1; Genesis 18:1; Exodus 6:2-3; Exodus 24: 9-11; Numbers 12:6-8; Acts 7:2)? Is this a contradiction? Of course not.

There is only one explanation. They have seen God the Almighty, but not the Father. It was the other member of the Godhead, the Word (John 1:1). The Word is Jesus Christ before He became flesh (John 1:14).

Truth no. 2: Jesus is the Creator

This can be shocking for many, but the Bible reveals that it was Jesus Christ who created all things! Here’s the proof:

For by Him [Jesus] all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him” (Colossians 1:16).

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made” (John 1:1-3).

“Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear” (Hebrews 11:3).

Again, the word of God is Jesus Christ. All things mean ALL things – no exception.

Truth no. 3: Jesus Christ kept the Sabbath and He is the Lord of the Sabbath

“And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for MAN, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath” (Mark 2:27-28).

The same can be read in Matthew 12:8 and Luke 6:5. It is worth noting that the Sabbath was made for MAN and not for the Jews only, as most people argue. The Hebrew word here denotes the whole human race. So it is faulty to say that the Sabbath is only for the Israelites to keep.

Jesus kept the seventh-day Sabbath. If you are a follower of Christ, then it is also logical to follow His example. Furthermore, if He is the Lord of the Sabbath, then who is the lord of Sunday? Obviously, it is not Christ.

Final Words

Knowing the truth about Jesus Christ gives us a deeper understanding about who He really is. He enables us to have a more intimate relationship with Him and God the Father. Knowing His true nature bends our knees and fall in awe for His majesty and authority. I hope these new truths you discovered will change your life.

  1. I think the assertions here are lost in dogma. In Daniel, Jesus is referred to as the son of man and we are given the vision of Jesus being exalted because God (referred to as the ancient of days) exalted him and deemed him worthy of praise. God and Jesus are two separate entities, God’s power and authority are inherent, Jesus’s authority was given to him by God. In the garden before his crucifixion Jesus was not praying to himself. Hence Jesus is not God. Jesus is however; our savior, our intercessor, the atoning sacrifice, worthy of praise and the rightful ruler of this world (appointed by the ancient of days). The above article therefore attempts to muddle the water on who God and Jesus really are. There is only one God and he is absolute, El Shaddai.
When we pray, The Lord’s Prayer, we pray to God invoking the name of Jesus at the end as he is the only one worthy to petition the Almighty God.

    • Jesus is God. That’s what you can CLEARLY see in John 1. If Jesus is not God, then His death is just as good as to save on ONE person and not all. Since HE IS GOD, His death is sufficient to save ALL humanity. You can’t argue with scripture. Even in Genesis, the phrase, let US make… US here denotes plurality. Even the Hebrew name for God in Genesis 1 is Elohim which is PLURAL.
