Have you ever wondered what Jesus’ special diet could have been?

This is a very interesting topic since we are not just talking about any man, but we are talking about our one and only Lord and Master, Yahshua the Messiah or better known as Jesus Christ – the God of the Old Testament and the Creator of all things.

Now, if you are given a chance to ask Christ what was His favorite food, wouldn’t you want to know? I’m not sure about you, but I would certainly want to!

The most amazing part of this is that when you know that special diet of Jesus and you partake of it, you will never be the same again. You will COMPLETELY become a different person!

Why?

Because it will change your priorities in life. You will become a man who will chase the spiritual and permanent matters in this life rather than chasing the wind and grasping for things that do not last.

So, what’s that special diet of Jesus? Read on to know the answer!

THE UNPOPULAR DIET OF JESUS CHRIST (John 4:31-34)

Here’s a blog that helps you recognize the special diet of Jesus Christ, how you can partake of it, and the meaning of John 4:31-34.

Jesus Christ’s special diet

John 4:31-34 reveals the answer to our question:

“In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, “Rabbi, eat.” But He said to them, “I have food to eat of which you do not know.” Therefore the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”

Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work” (John 4:31-34).

Did you grasp that, my friend? Did you just understand what you read? If not, read it again!

In this verse, Jesus reveals to us that His food, His daily sustenance and the source of His Strength, is DOING THE WILL OF GOD AND FINISHING GOD’S WORK.

Making God as our top priority

How many of us can honestly say that we are eating the special diet of Jesus Christ?

Could it be that we are living our lives without giving importance to this special diet? Could it be that we are ignorantly going on with our lives physically strong and yet, spiritual weak?

Do we even care whether we eat of that food or not?

We need to make our priorities in life aligned with God’s will and His work. Surely, many physical things in this life can bring us happiness: but most of it doesn’t last.

When you do God’s work, the reward is so sweet that it does not just last this lifetime, but throughout the eternity!

I would strongly tell you that doing God’s work and His will in your life are the best investments you can ever make in your entire life!

Three lessons we can learn

So, what are the lessons that we can learn from John 4:31-34? There are a lot and this blog won’t be enough to list of all of them. However, let me just share to you the three most vital lessons that we should be reminded of.

Lesson no. 1: We will spiritually die without eating spiritual food.

It is a fact that we humans will not last a month without food. We won’t also last even a week without water.

So imagine if you don’t eat of Jesus’ special diet on a daily basis. You will get spiritually weak and won’t have the strength to do God’s work.

If you continue on with your life without eating Christ’s spiritual food, then you will ultimately suffer from spiritual death.

Lesson no. 2: We must do God’s will in our lives.

Jesus specifically mentioned that His meat is doing God’s will. But what exactly is God’s will? Here are some of the few verses that mentioned the will of God.

  • I Thessalonians 5:14-18

“Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all. See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all. Rejoice alwayspray without ceasing,  in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”

  • I Thessalonians 4:3-6

“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality;  that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,  not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;  that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also forewarned you and testified.”

  • I Peter 2:15

“For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.”

Lesson no. 3: We need to do God’s work.

The work of God is preaching the gospel. Proclaiming His word throughout the world is at the forefront of the Christian cause. We should never let a day pass by without doing the work of God. We should always be on our feet in spreading, sharing and living the gospel of God.

I know this is a broad topic, but let me share with you some important resources that you can read to know how to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.

Conclusion

Now that you know Jesus’ special diet, will you eat of it? Like eating physical food, consuming of the special diet of Jesus Christ is a MATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH.

Will you eat it and live? Or ignore it and spiritually die? The choice is yours.
