The Commission Jesus Christ Gave Us

This article is about preaching the Gospel as an integral part of Modern Christianity.

Preach the Gospel and prepare a people.

Preach the Gospel and prepare a people.

If you are given a chance to get a message across a crowd, what would it be? In this world full of hatred, greed, suffering, and pain, there is no doubt that many people long for good news. In a global scale, millions are dying because of natural calamities, famines, wars, violent crimes, poverty, hunger, accidents, diseases, and the list just goes on and on. Darker days are still looming ahead with man’s capability of self-destruction. Life here on earth is getting more dangerous with each passing day.  So what is the hope in all of these?

What is the answer to today’s problems and suffering?

The answer to that question should be clear to us by now. More than 2,000 years ago, Jesus walked here on Earth to deliver the good news of the coming Kingdom of God. Today, we are commissioned by Jesus to preach the Gospel throughout the world. This is the guiding principle that steadily motivates the effort of the Church in putting great resources in publishing literatures and conducting television programs that would spread the Gospel.

Kingdom of God Bible Seminar

Will you answer the call?

Will you answer the call?

The recent Kingdom of God Seminars are living proofs of the effort of the Church in preaching the Gospel. I am privileged to be part of this momentous event. The feeling is overwhelming as I stood at the back of the service hall. I watch people listening to the MOST WONDERFUL MESSAGE of hope and salvation for mankind. Every one of the attendees is a potential first-fruit for God’s harvest. I have this urgency to open their minds to God’s truth and that they would attend Sabbath services with us. But at the end of the day, God is the only one who has the power to do that.

I recalled at the back of my mind the parable of the sower. Not all who receive the seed would be on the good ground. Some would fall on the wayside, others on the stony place, and some among the thorns. Truly, we must PRAY fervently that God would call more people to His Church.

We are called to Preach the Gospel

This is our calling.

This is our calling.

Every one of us has a part to play in the preaching of the Gospel. NEVER EVER COMMIT THE MISTAKE of assuming that it is just the job of the ministers and elders because it is absolutely NOT. It is a concerted effort that should be taken seriously by every single member. We should all be in our Father’s business. Let us not be complacent and be like the unprofitable servant that just settled on what he is asked to do. Our life should be filled with the burning desire of sharing the Gospel to every people. We must take the initiative to show this world that there would be coming a time where peace and abundance would reign here forever!

We are not called in the Church to be passive. We are here for a PURPOSE. Just like Jesus Christ whose food is doing God’s work (John 4:34), we must be genuinely convinced that we cannot live without partaking that food. It is our calling that we must be involved in doing the work. Let us develop a sense of urgency because God would not anymore delay His coming. Every day that passes by brings us closer to the second coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Just like Jesus Christ whose food is doing God’s work (John 4:34), we must be genuinely convinced that we cannot live without partaking that food.

Mark 16:15 says, “… go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone…” (New Living Translation).

DO YOUR PART!

Do not forget: your living example is one of the effective ways to preach the Gospel.

Do not forget: your living example is one of the effective ways to preach the Gospel.

This mission of the Church would be achieved more effectively if all members would act. Our literature might not reach everyone in the world and this is where the importance of our conscious effort as an individual member of the Church comes in.

If you are a student, ask your school librarian to display our good news magazines, booklets, and other publications.

If you are an employee, ask your managing department to display our literature in the front desk.

If you are a person who habitually uses the internet, promote our website’s content and links, especially in social networking sites.

Make the people be aware of the wonderful world tomorrow. Be the light of the world! Be a responsible representative of God and an ambassador of His Kingdom. There are many ways that you can spread the Gospel. All you need is actively find and grab every opportunity to share what we believe in. Our Life should be filled with the passion of sharing the Gospel. Let us make this our magnificent obsession!

Preaching the Gospel is the greatest work in the face of the planet. This is a very challenging mission that Jesus gave us. If we come and think about it, we are just a small flock compared to other denominations. We have a small budget and limited resources in doing God’s work compared to giant corporations. And yet this is our job. We cannot raise our hands and give up saying to ourselves that this could not be done. We live by faith and not by sight. We might waiver when we look at our physical circumstances but God is faithful who would supply all our needs in order to fulfill our God-given mission. We are on God’s side and we could be certain that we will succeed with His help.

Preaching the Gospel is the greatest work in the face of the planet.

At the end of all this, we must ask ourselves; are we doing our part in preaching the Gospel? Woe unto us if we are NOT doing our part! I cannot overemphasize this statement enough. We must have an honest examination of our priorities. And see if we are living up with the expectation of Jesus Christ. We have a lot of work to do. We must never grow weary of doing God’s work because in due time, He will reward us according to our deeds. May we find the motivation and zeal to carry on with this mission and together let us preach the Gospel throughout the world!
